7th Annual Canada-Tanzania Forum on Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR)

The High Commission of Canada in Tanzania  in partnership with the Tanzania Chamber of Minerals and Energy (TCME) is holding their annual CSR Forum which will be a breakfast event on Feb 1 from 7:30am to 11:30am at Coral Beach hotel in Dar es Salaam. 

Every year, the High Commission of Canada hosts a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) forum looking at pertinent issues in the extractives. Last year the focus was on women empowerment in surrounding communities through CSR projects. 

This time around, it is hosted  during the visit of the Canada’s Extractive Sector Corporate Social Responsibility Counsellor, Jeffrey Davidson.

The forum will seek perspectives on how  to enhance  livelihood creation and awareness on the UN Guiding Principles on Security and Human Rights, and the Voluntary Principles in Tanzania’s extractive sector (Mining, Oil &Gas). It also be looking at how technical and vocational education and training (TVET) can improve livelihoods in the extractive sector communities.
