POLICY SEMINAR ON MINING, GENDER AND SOCIO-ENVIRONMENTAL ACCOUNTABILITY

On 21st - 22nd March HakiMadini organized  a high level policy seminar which brought together various stakeholders in mining sector including the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, Local Government Authorities, Civil Society Organizations, Mining Associations, Federation of Mining Associations (FEMATA), Tanzania Women Miners Association (TAWOMA), Academicians, Tanzania Chamber of Minerals and Energy (TCME) and Community members affected by mining activities . The reasons of convening such an important inclusive seminar was an opportunity to bring together different important practitioners in the field of mining and environment. Accordingly to come up with solutions to the challenges faced or encountered regarding mining and environment by those working in the sector which include small scale miners and large scale miners.
